Podocarpus tixieri
Type: Cambodia, Bokor Plateau, Mount Kam Chay, 1968, P. Tixier 4864 (holotype, TL; isotypes, KLU, P). No synonyms.
This may be an imaginary taxon. GBIF lists only 2 collections, both made by Tixier in Cambodia in 1968-1969, so we're talking about a plant that was seen twice, by one person, over 50 years ago. Most likely, it's an anomalous or unidentified specimen of a known species. It has never appeared in a study and no molecular analysis has been done, and as shown below, the description is very brief. However, de Laubenfels (2015) (citing Gaussen 1976, p. 155) regarded it as a good species and no publication has appeared to the contrary.
"Shrubs to trees 8 m. Foliage bud scales erect, 2-3 mm. Mature leaves linear or ovate, 2-5 × 0.6-1 cm, apices rounded, upper midribs weak. Pollen cones 4 mm in diam." (de Laubenfels 2015).
S Cambodia and nearby Thailand; common in the mountains (de Laubenfels 2015).

The epithet honors the collector, Pierre Tixier (1918-1997), known mainly for his abundant bryophyte collections.
